The Centre

Discover the infinite beauty of the heart and explore inner silence and peace at our centre in the heart of London. As a city and indeed as a centre we embrace and celebrate the amazing diversity of London. We offer group meditations and individual sessions of relaxation and meditation, accessible to all.

Our Heartfulness centre in London was opened in May 2012 and provides a space for reflection, relaxation and meditation. We provide the opportunity to connect with other meditators and like-minded individuals to create a platform for support and shared understanding.

The space is 5,000 square feet and is the first ever fully-owned meditation centre in the UK and Ireland, with a café area, a children’s room, a reading area with a library and a meditation hall. The centre can accommodate up to 480 people in total. Set over two floors in a new building in London the centre is close to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic park. Our centre is only ten minutes’ walk from the nearest London Underground station (Stratford) and provides easy access for meditators travelling within London, across the UK and further afield.

We have been registered as a charity in the UK since 1993. Individuals from diverse cultures, nationalities and backgrounds, come together every week for group meditations, training sessions and other events. Regular group meditation takes place on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm and Sunday group meditation at 9 am and 1 pm. On Saturdays we have drop-in sessions 10 am to 4 pm where people can learn meditation with a trainer. In addition to this, we offer practical workshops for more experienced meditators. You are always welcome to drop by for a visit and for tea or coffee in our café.

The Heartfulness centre is located in the East of London, with good motorway links via the A406, the M11 and M25, good tube connections, train and coach and bus connections – airport buses from Stansted stop at Stratford bus station.

For travel information, please see below and you can always consult Travel for London.

By Train

The Heartfulness centre is a 10-15 minute walk from Stratford International Railway station, which serves mainline trains to Stratford as well as the London Underground. Other nearby stations, a little further away, are Bow Road and West Ham. There is an additional station Stratford High Street, that serves the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) covering some parts of East London. If you would prefer to avoid walking, you could take the underground to Mile End, and from there take the 25 or the 425 bus from Bus Stop D, and ask for the stop by Tesco on the corner of Warton Road. TFL’s journey planner will find the best route to travel to Stratford from your departure point in London. London Underground Map also helps to zoom in on a particular area. Stratford is on the Central Line (red) to the right of the map, just before this line goes straight upwards. This map does not include National Rail lines. If you are coming from outside London, National Rail runs trains across the UK. It allows you to plan your journey to Stratford.

By Bus

London has an extensive bus network. Though Stratford Bus station is located outside the railway station, the buses to the centre run along the High Street on the opposite side of the main road. It is often quicker to walk than to travel by bus, given that this also involves a walk to the bus-stop and a wait there. The closest bus stop to the centre is Warton Rd / Stratford High St Bus Stop: K. Buses running along this route are numbers: 25, 108, 276, 425, N8 The Journey Planner also suggests the best bus routes.

By Coach

The following services run coaches from other parts of the UK and Europe to Stratford: National ExpressEurolinesMegabus

By Eurostar

Eurostar trains run from northern France and Belgium and do not call directly at Stratford International station – you will need to connect via St. Pancras International or Ebbsfleet International, and buy local tickets from there.

By Car

Google Maps or your Satellite Navigation system will usually give the best directions. Please note that there is no onsite parking. Off-street parking is available with meter charges, which will be noted on a display at the meter. There is also a multi-story car-park at the Westfield Shopping Centre at the other side of the railway station, about 20 minutes’ walk from the centre.

By Air

Stratford is easily accessible from all London airports by road and rail. London City airport is the closest to Stratford.
